From the Principal

Welcome to Wantirna South.

For more than eighty years our school has been a place where children come to feel known, to be challenged, and to grow into the people they're going to be.

Whether you're a new family considering enrolment, or a long-time member of the community, you're welcome here.

Andrea McKinnon

Principal

What your child will learn

Our curriculum

Built on the Victorian Curriculum F–10, with deep specialist programs and a strong wellbeing thread running through everything we do.

  • English

Reading, writing, and speaking — taught through a structured literacy block in every classroom.

  • Mathematics

Number, measurement, geometry, and statistics — with hands-on problem-solving daily.

  • Integrated Studies

Science, humanities, and design woven into themed inquiry units across each term.

  • Wellbeing

Resilience Project, Restorative Practices, and dedicated wellbeing time every week.

  • Specialist Subjects

Music, Visual Art, Physical Education, and Mandarin — taught by specialists from Foundation to Year 6.

  • Special Programs

WINGS extension, Buzz Cafe, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, and more.
